About SJF

In October 2022, Spencer Jones, the founder’s son, went into heart failure because of his progressive muscle-wasting disease, Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
He was admitted to Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri where he spent 17 days in the Cardiac ICU.
Friends, friends of friends, and even strangers rallied together to support Spencer and his family while they had to wrap their minds around the unimaginable.
They provided monetary support, meals, experiences, and gifts to make their lives a little easier.
November 7th, 2022 Spencer came home on hospice to spend what little time he had left in the comforts of his home.
The Jones family knew that they wouldn’t be able to spend time away from work and focusing on their family without the communities support and promised to pay it forward and keep Spencer’s name alive.
On December 7th, 2022 Spencer passed away leaving an impact on the community.
People whom he had never met were touched by his story and would still ask how they could help. It was on this day that the Jones family formed the Spencer Jones Foundation.
The Spencer Jones Foundation is committed to taking care of the families in our community, in the same way that our community took care of them.
